Doxie Supply Co.

Catalog No. 1 · Autumn 2026

Outfitters for long, low dogs.

We are a small shop in Kansas City with one mini dachshund on staff. Everything in the catalog is something we would hand her ourselves: stairs so she stops launching off the couch, a sofa she can step into, a carrier that fits a dog her shape. It all ships free from a US warehouse.

Fig. 1A long-haired black and tan, the shape this whole shop is built around.

If you only buy two things, buy these.

The jump off the couch is the one that worries us. A dachshund carries a lot of back on very short legs, and the landing is what does the damage, not the running around. So the first fix is a way up and down, and the second is a bed of her own that she can step into instead of leap onto.

Plate II

The rest of the house.

The smaller things, for the kitchen, the car and the walk. Each one went through our living room before it got a number.

For the road.

Most dachshunds have strong feelings about the car. A flat deck instead of a slope with a gap in it, and a carrier that opens from the top so she is lowered in instead of coaxed through a door. These two made it easier for ours.

Sets

The pairs people buy anyway.

Things that end up in the same house sooner or later, so we priced them together and took a little off. They still arrive as separate boxes, sometimes a day apart.

Why a shop for one shape of dog

Because the big stores forgot about the long ones.

Walk into any pet store and the whole place is built for a dog with normal legs. Dachshunds, corgis and bassets get whatever is left on the bottom shelf. A bed with tall sides is a wall to them. The back seat of a car is a climb. The couch they love is a drop that looks small to us and is not small to a spine that long.

So we shop for that body on purpose. Stairs with a gentle run instead of a steep one. Furniture low enough to walk into. A carrier that opens from the top so a nervous dog gets lowered in gently instead of pushed through a door. None of it is medicine, and if your dog already has a back problem your vet is the person to talk to, not us. This is just the everyday stuff that helps a healthy back stay that way.

The Doxie Home Checklist

Twelve small changes we made around the house once a long dog moved in.

It is one page and it is free. After that you will only hear from us when something new earns a place in the catalog, which does not happen often.
